This is a ride aboard 323 232 on a service operated by Arriva Northern that took me on what remains of the legendary Woodhead Line. The exterior video is of another member of the class leaving Manchester Piccadilly.

Note the old 1500v DC infrastructure still in use. Of course, the overhead wire carries 25Kv AC, which has since the early 1980s.

Apparently the Class 323s in use in the Manchester will eventually be transferred to Birmingham where the rest of the class operates.
