Basket Weave Square (Sampler Granny Square Blanket Pt. 1)

Here is the first video for the Sampler Granny Square Blanket. This blanket will consist of 16 different squares with a minimum of 3 colors. Each square will be a different video so no need to rush. I will also have a video on how to sew the blanket together and put a border around the whole blanket.

Written instructions for the Basket Weave Square
With your color of choice: chain 28
row 1: Double crochet in fourth chain from hook and in each chain across. (26)
row 2: Chain 2. Skip first double crochet. Work FPdc (front post double crochet) around the post of the next 3 stitches. Work BPdc (Back post double crochet) around the post of 3 stitches. repeat from * to * until the end of row. On the last stitch place a half double crochet into the top of beginning chain. (26)
row 3: Ch 2, skip first idc *work FPdc around the post of next 3 its, work BPdc around the post of next 3sts; repeat from * to * across. HDC in top of beginning ch.
row 4 and 5: ch 2, turn; skip first idc, * work BPdc around the post of next 3 sts, work FPdc around the post of next 3 stitches; repeat from * to *. HDC in top of beginning ch.
row 6: repeat row 3.
Repeat rows 3-6 for pattern until piece measures approximately 7 inches; do not finish off.

For edge: ch 1. turn. Place 3 single crochets into corner, evenly place 25 single crochets down the edge. Each corner has 3 single crochets and each edge has 25 stitches. Slip stitch to first sc and fasten off.
