Can a sexual aid or device desensitize you sexually? I touched upon the topic last week, but am delving deeper on my 1-minute Love Bites this week!

First, let me say that I think using a sex toy can actually improve your sex life and your sexual response, because it can help you to enjoy regular orgasms and teach you where your hotspots are and what kinds of stimulation you need.

I tell women to try to alternate, if possible, when self-stimulating –to use both their own hands as well as sex aids, masturbating with and without the vibrator so that you stay used to all the different kinds of sensations.

But rest assured: Any numbness after sex toy use is not permanent. You haven’t done any nerve damage to yourself. You’ve just gotten used to a certain level of sensation…but you can get used to another level of sensation. So, enjoy your vibrating friends without fear!
