Freight Systems of the World - This is China S5 EP1

Putting your hands in a river is a way of getting connected to the world. These huge ocean liners are like buses on the sea, travelling around the globe. The world’s longest international freight train connects more than 500 cities on the Eurasian continent. Ports operate 24 hours a day. Containers are loaded with goods from around the world. Trade is freer and products are cheaper. These are all part of a seamlessly connected global freight transportation system that has helped to shape the world we see today.

The Season 5 of “This is China” follows through on the same strategy to tell China stories in the age of economic globalization. The focus is on enterprises and cities in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei metropolitan area and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It involves stories and conversations on global trade, transnational logistics, digital planet and world factories to shed light on the changes and new things in China brought by economic globalization, and inspire people to think about their impact and future development.
