This experimental repair method was quite time consuming because it was carried out mainly purely from trial and error using foam tapes (and some wacky improvisation). The main cause for the missing pixels in this old TI-83 calculator's screen was due to some wires in the Top Ribbon Cable not making solid connection to the screen board. Foam tapes was used to cover the contact section of that ribbon cable, and other areas of the screen board. Small pieces of foam tapes were also placed in the rear case half (which is quite a tedious task because the rear case has an internal ribbing support structure), in such a way that they push all the wires in the flex ribbon cables to help make firm contact with the board when the case halves are re-assembled. The screen is eventually working again with no missing pixels.

Soldering method is another repair option. Which is probably a much more reliable repair method in the long run (and more practical).
