We wanted to keep the TFT display scratch free, because the display itself is in the open and could be exposed to debris. With the screen protector, the display will stay nice for quite a while. I did have to use the second screen protector. The screen protector itself needed some trimming, so if you decide to get one, make sure you are ready for that.
