Protest erupts in Jamia Millia Islamia University over CAA implementation; security beefed up

Multiple student organisations staged a protest at Jamia Millia Islamia University on March 12 showing their discontent over the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act. To have vigil over the situation and maintain law and order, Central paramilitary forces were deployed in the area. Meanwhile, Delhi Police and several other paramilitary forces carried out flag march in several parts of Delhi earlier in the day. Notably, the All India Jamaat Chief has welcomed the implementation of CAA and said Muslims won’t be affected.


The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
