This bull seal has overcome what most would not survive: food shortages, disease, territorial fights, predators. He is strong, experienced, and hardened by nature. But none of that prepared him for a single strip of plastic.
A packing strap, likely discarded carelessly, sliced deep into his flesh. So deep, in fact, that even after cutting it, it clung to his skin like a weapon lodged in a wound. This is not “survival of the fittest.” This is not nature’s law. This is an artificial, unfair, and brutal consequence of human negligence.
We are dismantling the resilience of wildlife one entanglement at a time.
