Chloromnesia is a coined word combining "Chloro," derived from the Greek word chloros meaning green and life, and "Mnesia," from the Greek mnēsis, meaning memory. Here, "Chloro" goes beyond color to represent the living energy flowing through plants and the quiet breath of nature itself. This title imagines the plant as a living being that absorbs, remembers, and breathes the invisible traces of the world. Humans and plants are connected within a single flow of life energy and electrical currents. While natural objects may sometimes appear inert to human eyes, their cells are constantly alive, responding to even the slightest stimuli with subtle electromagnetic changes. This work seeks to reveal these hidden, living responses through the fusion of electronic technology and art, presented in both sound and vision.
In Chloromnesia, the plant is imagined as a sentient life form. Each leaf and cell senses the world’s phenomena as electrical signals and stores them as memories. At the beginning of the piece, the plant responds delicately to human presence, creating a moment of mutual perception and subtle interaction. It then recalls the beautiful memories it has held within the vastness of nature over time, expressing them as sound and offering a meditative resonance. At times, it also gives voice to the pain and scars left by human-caused destruction, echoing the long history of burning and pollution. Through this work, I hope to reflect on the relationship between nature and humanity, and to dream of a world where nature is once again cherished.

Chloromnesia는 '초록(Chloro)'과 '기억(Mnesia)'을 뜻하는 그리스 어원이 결합된 합성어이다. 여기서 ‘Chloro’는 단순한 색을 넘어, 식물 속에 흐르는 생명력과 자연의 고요한 숨결을 상징한다. 이 제목은 식물이 세상의 보이지 않는 흔적을 흡수하고, 기억하며, 살아 숨 쉬는 존재임을 상상하는 데서 출발한다. 인간과 식물은 하나의 생명 에너지와 전기적 흐름 속에서 연결되어 있다. 우리 눈에는 자연물이 때때로 단순한 물체처럼 보일지 모르지만, 그들의 세포는 아주 미세한 자극에도 전자기적 변화를 일으키며 끊임없이 반응한다. 나는 이러한 과학적 원리를 전자기기와 예술을 결합해 시청각적으로 표현하고자 했다.
이 작품에서 식물은 인지 능력을 지닌 생명체로 가정된다. 잎과 세포 하나하나는 세상의 현상들을 전기 신호로 감지하고 기억하는 존재로 살아간다. 곡의 초반부에서는 인간의 접근에 식물이 섬세하게 반응하며, 서로의 존재를 감지하고 교감하는 순간을 그려낸다. 또한, 오랜 시간 대자연 속에서 품어온 아름다운 기억을 소리로 나타내어 명상적 울림을 주기도 하고, 한편으로는 인간에 의해 불타고 오염되었던 시간 속에서 겪은 고통을 울부짖듯 드러내기도 한다. 이 작품을 통해 자연과 인간의 관계를 다시 성찰하고,
자연이 소중히 여겨지는 세상을 꿈꾸어 본다.
