Bench is one of the three part of The Shannon Public Works Trilogy WINDOW BENCH TRAFFIC a multimedia performance art, dance, sociology and media project by Bill Shannon. The versions aspect of th eproject are given to delineate the different stages and evolution of the works in terms of technical execution and conceptual adhesion.

About Bench 1.0
This earliest version of Bench features a three channel B&W audio video capture. The aspect of Bench 1.0 presented here is the single screen composite of the three cameras used. Two cameras were in a suitcase and the third was worn by Shannon on his chest. The final form of the museum based video installation was a two channel installation called Peripheral Fluctuation. The first channel is shown here and the second channel completing the installation shares the audio and is a"slowmotion" screen of people turning and gazing at the spectacle of my performing while capturing. Special thanks to Jeff Chavez for his valuable assist on the audio mixdown. This video installation was presented at Tate Liverpool UK in 2003.
