The police officials of PS Sarai Rohilla have exhibited a rare example of professional aptitude, investigating skill and high grade of presence of mind in working out a sensational blind murder
BRIEF FACTS:
The facts of the case are that on 04.01.2023, an information was received from North District Control Room that a male dead-body was lying in the Nallah at Chander Shekhar Azad Colony, Pratap Nagar, Kishan Ganj, Delhi. The call was entrusted to SI S.K. Jha for necessary action, who rushed to the spot. PCR Vans were also asked to reach the spot. SHO/Sarai Rohilla also reached the spot along with staff. The dead-body was lying in water pool of the Nallah in upside down position. The dead body was taken out of the Nallah with the help of staff and on search one purse was recovered from the pant worn by the deceased containing a Metro Card. The crime team was called and the spot got inspected. Efforts were made for the identification of the deceased through the locals but in vain. Hence, the dead-body was shifted to Subzi Mandi Mortuary and got preserved.
TEAM & INVESTIGATION:
Immediately, a team of dedicated police officials of PS Sarai Rohilla comprising of Inspr. Kuldeep Singh (Inspector L & O), Inspr. Kuldeep Kumar (Inspr. Investigation), SI S.K. Jha, ASI Pushkar, HC Amit Yadav, HC Sandeep, HC Rambabu, Ct Rahul, Ct Ravi, Ct Prahlad and Ct Deepak was constituted, under the close supervision of Inspr. Shish Pal, SHO/PS Sarai Rohilla and guidance of Shri Prashant Chaudhary, ACP/Sub-Division, Sarai Rohilla for the identification of the deceased and to undertake subsequent pursuant action.
The photo of Deceased was uploaded in Zipnet then his family members contacted police and identified him. They provided complete details along with mobile no. of victim and then last call identified by analysing CDR. The efforts of the team members yielded result and they succeeded in identifying the deceased as Rachit r/o Dev Nagar, Pyare Lal Road, Karol Bagh, Delhi, age-35 years. Hence, the post-mortem of the deceased was got conducted on 06.01.2023 and the dead-body was handed over to his family members for last rites.
The Post Mortem examination suggested the death as homicidal. Hence, a case vide FIR No. 08/23 dated 06.01.2023 u/s 302 IPC was registered and the team members, detailed for the identification of the deceased, were further detailed to crack the case.
Accordingly, the team members deployed their secret sources to get some clue about the culprits. The information about the deceased and his circle was obtained from his family members. The CDRs of the mobile phone number of the deceased were also obtained from the service providers. The preliminary information gathered by the team members revealed that the deceased was a drug addict. The CDRs of the phone of the deceased shown an incoming call on his phone from mobile phone No. 98011627XX. Hence, the caller, who was identified as Shintu, was traced and interrogated. Initially, he tried to mislead the police team, but on sustained interrogation he confessed having murdered the deceased and also disclosed the names of his accomplishes. Hence, he was arrested and another accused Dharmender was arrested at the instance of accused Shintu and interrogated.
On interrogation, they revealed that the deceased Rachit alongwith Shintu and one Raju @ Batla consumed Drug near Mal Godam, Kishan Ganj, Delhi. Since, the deceased was having friendship with the persons who were being suspected by Dharmender for the death of his friend Vikas and he was further in apprehension over threat to his life from the deceased. Shintu and Raju @ Batla first robbed him of cash Rs. 9,000/- and mobile phone and thereafter he was stabbed to death by Dharmender and Shintu as Raju @ Batla had left them after the robbing of the deceased. The deceased was thrown in Ganda Nala by Dharmender and Shintu after being murdered. Raju @ Batla has also arrested in this case.
The interrogation of Shintu revealed that the Mobile Phone, robbed from the deceased, had been sold to one Anil for Rs.1200/-. Hence, the robbed mobile phone has been recovered from Anil. In view of the above development and recovery sections 392/411/201 IPC were added in this case.
PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSONS:
1. Shintu @ Vivek R/o Jhuggi Sarai Rohilla, Delhi, age-22 years. (Previously found involved in a case of Snatching registered at PS Sarai Rohilla Railway Station, Delhi).
2. Dharmender r/o Jhuggi Sarai Rohilla, Delhi, age-27 years. (His previous antecedents are being verified).
3. Raju @ Batla r/o Jhuggi Sarai Rohilla, Delhi, age-22 years. (He is a habitual criminal with the history of involvements in 11 cases registered in different Police Stations of Delhi).
4. Anil Kumar r/o Jhuggi Sarai Rohilla, Delhi, age-22 years. *(He is the receiver of robbed mobile phone of the deceased and has been bound down by issuance.
