The d'Arcy Dalton way follows ancient tracks and paths who's origins are lost in the mists of time. In Many cases going back possibly 4 or 5 thousand years.
Starting in Warwickshire, the way meanders southwards ending at Waylands Smithy on the Ridgeway path.
The "way" was compiled to commemorate Wytton Perowne D’Arcy Dalton who was a great man that campaigned tirelessly to keep our rites of ways open.
Today our footpaths and bridleways are under constant threat not only from landowners and farmers who would rather have them shut, but from those who use them wrongly, and do not adhere to the country code and who leave litter and mess.
The ancient tracks that make up the "Way" link hamlets and villages with ancient churches that they themselves no doubt occupy sacred ancient sites, such as springs etc going back to the roots of mans understandings...
The "Way" goes through Quintessential England.
