The new ADCO Model LID-25 accepts filled cartons with the narrow side of the tray leading. The trays are metered into the machine where a lid is placed on top of the open tray. The tray advances downstream with the large sidewalls plowed down around the tray. The tray transfers 90° and is conveyed with flight lugs while folding the four minor flaps around the tray and applying beads of adhesive. The top glue flaps are then compressed with actuated compression. Lidded trays are discharged onto the customers take away conveyors.
