Meghan Markle "wasn't prepared" for the "obvious" realities of royal life, an author has claimed.

Tom Quinn's post-mortem comes more than two years after Prince Harry and his wife Meghan decided to step down from royal duties.
The couple initially cited media scrutiny and the strictures of their roles as the reasons for 'Megxit', but would later provide darker explanations through their various media pursuits.

Most controversial of all was the insinuation that the monarchy is an inherently racist institution and therefore did not fully accept Meghan into the fold.

The suggestion was made during the now-infamous TV interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, where Meghan implied a member of the family was racist towards her.
