Описание к видео Gandhi vs Marx: The Battle for Your Soul

@The comparison between Gandhi's Trusteeship and Marx's Revolution centers on their proposed means for achieving a shared goal: a more egalitarian and classless society without capitalist exploitation.
Both #Gandhi and #Marx opposed #capitalism and its inherent #inequalities, but their methods for overcoming it were fundamentally different.
Gandhi's #Trusteeship (#Non-Violent Change)
Gandhi's Trusteeship is an economic and social philosophy that seeks to reform the capitalist system from within, using non-violent and moral persuasion.
Means: Non-violence (Ahimsa) and appeal to moral conscience. The change is to be brought about through internal conversion of the wealthy and public pressure.
Concept: The wealthy (capitalists or landlords) should regard their surplus property and wealth not as their own, but as a trust held on behalf of the poor and the community. They are entitled to a nominal compensation for their work and honorable livelihood, and the rest must be used for the welfare of society.
Ownership: It does not immediately abolish private ownership but seeks to transform its use from self-interest to social good. It allows the wealthy to retain their talent and managerial skill for the benefit of all.
Goal: A non-violent, #decentralized, classless society, combining individual initiative with collective well-being.
#Marx's_Revolution (Violent Overthrow)
Marx's concept of revolution is the core of his theory of historical materialism, positing that societal change is driven by class struggle and the inevitable violent overthrow of the ruling class.
Means: Violent #Proletarian_Revolution to forcibly overthrow the existing political and economic structure. Marxists believe violence is necessary because the ruling class (#bourgeoisie) will not voluntarily give up their power and property.
Concept: The internal contradictions of capitalism will lead to the increasing exploitation and degradation of the working class (#proletariat). The revolution is the historical necessity that resolves this class conflict.
Ownership: The revolution leads to the abolition of private property and the #socialization of the means of production. This is followed by a transitional period, the "dictatorship of the proletariat," before ultimately establishing a stateless, classless, communist society.
Goal: A purely classless and #stateless_communist society based on #collective_ownership.
Key Differences
| Feature | Gandhi's Trusteeship | Marx's Revolution |
|---|---|---|
| Method of Change | Non-violent conversion, moral pressure. | Violent overthrow, class struggle. |
| View on Capitalist | Seek to reform the capitalist by converting him into a trustee. | Seek to eliminate the capitalist class. |
| Role of Property | Private ownership is permitted but must be held in trust for the community. | Private property (means of production) is abolished and socialized. |
| Resulting State | Favored decentralization and a welfare state, opposed to autocracy. | Advocated the Dictatorship of the Proletariat as a transitional phase. |
| Basis | Spiritual and ethical emphasis (human nature is redeemable). | @Materialistic and deterministic emphasis (history is driven by material conditions). |
