Dr Tan Cheng Bock, Chairman of the Progress Singapore Party (PSP), and Leong Mun Wai, Secretary-General of PSP, addressed the media at West Coast Market on 10 May, before their thank-you walkabout in West Coast Jurong West GRC.

Dr Tan expressed gratitude to supporters and reassured those who did not vote for PSP that the party remains committed to the community.

He emphasised that the party would not retreat following the election outcome, expressing confidence that PSP would return, possibly in five years, with younger members at the forefront.

Reflecting on the electoral journey, Dr Tan acknowledged the challenges faced by younger candidates and encouraged them to learn from the experience.

He noted that while the Workers’ Party took decades to secure parliamentary seats, PSP would continue to persevere and build experience. Dr Tan reiterated his long-term vision of nurturing younger leaders to participate in politics and represent the people effectively.

Leong Mun Wai reaffirmed PSP’s commitment to the community and echoed Dr Tan’s sentiment about resilience and perseverance.

He clarified that PSP is currently in the process of reflecting and regrouping and promised a more comprehensive presentation once internal deliberations are complete.

Leong thanked Singaporeans for their support and urged the public to remain patient as the party charts its next steps.

The PSP leaders then proceeded with the thank-you walkabout, demonstrating their dedication to staying engaged with the community despite the election results.

PSP did not secure any parliamentary seats in the 2025 General Election and will not have a presence in the 15th Parliament.
