he 2023 Turkish general election was held on 14 May 2023. Presidential elections were held to elect the President of Turkey using a two-round system. Simultaneously, parliamentary elections were held to elect 600 Members of parliament to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.

In the presidential election, incumbent President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) won the first round with 49.49% of the vote, but failed to secure the 50% majority required to win outright. He will face the second-place candidate, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu of the Republican People's Party (CHP), in a runoff election on 28 May.

In the parliamentary election, the AKP won 295 seats, followed by the CHP with 226 seats and the İYİ Party with 71 seats. The remaining seats were won by smaller parties and independent candidates.

The election was held against the backdrop of a number of challenges facing Turkey, including a struggling economy, a refugee crisis, and a conflict with Kurdish militants. The results of the election will have a significant impact on Turkey's future direction.
