This was the heyday when Yahama was cranking out high-quality U1's. They are still doing that but their price is dramatically higher, so when you find one like this that's in perfect condition it's very reasonably priced. This piano has had a lot of work to make it as if it is brand new. The exterior looks brand new, not a nick or scratch, beautifully polished. The inside also looks brand new and is in immaculate condition. According to Yamaha this is the number one best selling piano of all time: the Yamaha U1. This piano stands at 48" tall. If you are looking at a piano seriously, start at 48". Brigham says "the bigger the better" but he has also heard people say that they think 48" is the sweet spot. This piano sounds and plays just like any other U1 and is in superb condition. It has a very rich and pleasing tone.
