The entire world is rapidly growing older and it has given a boost to the development of related technologies. This week on #BizTech_Brunch, we explore the advanced IT skills that the aging society. Korea’s rate of aging is almost a twofold increase in comparison to the OECD average. Therefore, the government released the 4th Basic Plan for Low Fertility and Aged Society. The plan includes creation of jobs for the elderly and increasing the number of recipients of basic living. A lot of companies have also developed technologies and products to deal with the aging phenomenon. A robot doll which can communicate with the elderly as well as a smart insole, which can provide a location tracking service have especially gained recognition. We introduce the technologies for aging, which have garnered a lot of attention in the global market, along with the growing number of aging population.

전 세계적으로 고령화 시대에 접어들면서 그와 관련된 기술이 빠르게 성장하고 있는 가운데, 이번 주 #BizTech_Brunch 에서는 노년층을 위한 IT 기술 에이징 테크에 대해 살펴본다. 한국의 고령화 속도가 OECD 평균의 약 2배에 이르는 것으로 알려지면서 정부에서는 이에 대한 대책으로 ‘제4차 저출산, 고령사회 기본계획’을 발표하며 노인 일자리를 대폭 확대하고, 기초연금 수급대상을 확대하는 등의 방안을 검토하고 있다. 기업들 역시 앞다투어 에이징 테크 관련 기술 및 제품을 선보이고 있는데, 대표적으로 노인의 말벗이 되어주는 인공지능 로봇과 안전 구역을 벗어나면 보호자들이 바로 알 수 있게 해주는 치매 노인을 위한 스마트 인솔 등이 눈길을 끌고 있다. 고령화 시대에 발맞춰 사회 전 분야에서 주목하고 있는 ‘에이징 테크’ 에 대해 함께 알아본다.
