A CLOSING CONVERSATION WITH PRESIDENT CLINTON AND DR. VIVEK H. MURTHY

Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, young people faced numerous challenges: from economic inequality to racial injustice, to LGBTQ rights discrimination to the adverse impacts of social media on mental health. The pandemic has only heightened the stresses young people face, with upended semesters, lost time with friends, and a pervasive sense of uncertainty. Yet new approaches and interventions – often developed by young people for young people – have helped to support mental health. How can we meaningfully address the youth mental health crisis, and support students as we navigate the complex challenges ahead?

Participants:
PRESIDENT BILL CLINTON, 42nd President of the United States; Founder and Board Chair, Clinton Foundation (moderator)

DR. VIVEK H. MURTHY, U.S. Surgeon General, Department of Health and Human Services
