Korigad Fort Lonavala | One Day Trekking Near Pune

Hello There!!!
In this episode we have covered single day trip from Pune to Lonavala followed by Mulshi dam and Amby valley road. Includes Trekking to Korigad Fort with breathtaking views of Fort and Lonavala hills.

Korigad Fort is a hill fort located about 20 km south of Lonavala in Pune district, Maharashtra, India
This fort was incorporated into his kingdom by the Maratha ruler Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj along with the forts of Lohagad, Visapur, Tung and Tikona in 1657.
Its well known for incorporated Temples within fort. Name itself came from goddess Koraidevi. Fort also has several smaller temples dedicated to Vishnu and Shiva
The interesting part of the fort is that its wall is still completely intact and people can walk along its entire fort walls. Its massive gate is also intact.
Several ruins of older structures within the fort still exist. It has six cannons - the largest of which called the Laxmi Toph is located near the Korai Devi temple.

To reach Korigad from Pune there are three options - (1) Pune to Lonavala highway.(2) Pune to Pawna lake to Lonavala. (3) Pune to Mulshi Dam to Aamby valley and then Lonavala.
For best views take the Mulshi Dam - Aamby Valley road towards Lonavala, keep driving till Ghusalkhamb Naka. There is Parking near the bus stop on the road.
It is an easy climb up to the fort. This fort can be visited in any time of the year. Even a evening trek during summer gives nice experience with Stunning sunsets towards Lonavala.
