About the speakers:
George Shultz is one of the most distinguished public servants in American history. He has also had a distinguished career in academia and business. Secretary Shultz is one of only two people to hold four different federal cabinet posts, including secretary of labor under President Nixon and secretary of state under President Reagan. In both positions he took a leading interest in the environment, helping to oversee the creation of the Environmental Protection Agency and brokering the Montreal Protocol to address depletions in the Ozone Layer. Today, Secretary Shultz is a distinguished fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University. He is particularly interested in bridging ideological divides to address climate change and renewable energy.

Dan Rather has a resume that reads like a history book. He has interviewed every American president since Eisenhower and personally covered almost every important global dateline of the last 60 years, from the Civil Rights Movement to Vietnam, to Watergate to the terrorist attacks of 9/11. Rather helped pioneer the very idea that television could be a place for news, and he has kept that spirit of innovation alive by constantly pushing the boundaries of what video storytelling could accomplish.
