The TERRIFYING Female Guards Of The Concentration Camps

One of the most shocking scenes of the Second World War was when the Allies liberated concentration camps such as Bergen-Belsen and Dachau. Inside of these camps were a large number of SS guards and members of staff who inflicted a horrific reign of terror onto the prisoners, many of whom were dying as the liberators entered. But amongst the guards were a number of female guards who were known for their terrible treatment of female prisoners, and were known for violence, murder and brutality. Many of the guards such as Irma Grese became notorious and were considered some of the most evil guards.

Many of these female guards were sentenced to death and were executed following post-war trials. A number were executed for their involvement in selections, killings and beatings. Out of the 50,000 guards who served in the SS camps, around 5,000 were woman and many were trained at Ravensbruck under horrific overseers such as Maria Mandl and Margot Dreschel. But what shocked the world was the age of many of these women, as many were in their early 20s and were known for their barbaric treatment of others.
