Check out the latest update in the Salt River Segment where crews continue to make monumental progress to open the freeway by late 2019. Crews have continued work on the new Elwood Street pedestrian bridge and the full closure of Dobbins Road has been lifted. Work is beginning to transfer to street improvements, seeding and final paving. Make sure to check out our updates from other freeway segments in the coming days!

This update covers construction work through May 1, 2019. Crews in this segment have completed the 51st Avenue, Elliot Road, Estrella Drive, Southern Avenue and Salt River bridges; paving new travel lanes between Elliot Road and 51st Avenue. Crews continue to make a lot of progress on the earthwork; a sound wall near Broadway Road; street improvements at Southern Avenue, Broadway Road and Baseline Road; creating the Elwood Street pedestrian bridge; plant seeding near Baseline Road and Estrella Drive; relocating utilities; work on the Dobbins Road bridge; and paving. Over the next month crews will continue to relocate utilities, finish the sound wall near Broadway Road; finish the Dobbins Road bridge; complete more earthwork; work on street improvements at Broadway Road, Baseline Road, and Southern Avenue; seeding and paving new travel lanes.
