How do we find probability of an event?
Experiment- An action which produces certain well defined outcomes is called an experiment.
When we toss a coin we either get a Head or a Tail.
(Equally Likely)
When we roll a die we can get numbers from 1 to 6.
When we perform an experiment, it is called a trial of the experiment.
Tossing a coin is called trial of an experiment.
An outcome of the trial is called an event.
Rolling a Die
Possible outcomes- 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
Probability(getting an even number)= 3/6 = ½
Probability (getting an odd number)= 3/6 = ½
Probability (getting a number more than 5)= ⅙
Probability (getting a number equal to or more than 5)= 2/6 = 1/3
