Camtasia, which is created by Techsmith, is great screen capture software, which also comes complete with video editing software. My guess is that I have been using Camtasia for probably around 15 years. When I first started out, it seemed to be the software that everyone was using to create screen shot videos.

One of the many things that I like about Camtasia is the fact that they have great how-to videos and they are continually making small improvements to the software. I pay for a maintenance package, which, to my mind, is a great way of keeping Camtasia up-to-date with all the latest updates. It also gives you the feature of telephone help, which I have used on a number of occasions.

Around 2 to 3 months ago, Camtasia appeared to take longer to upload videos; in fact, it took considerably longer. They added a new feature called Camtasia Rev, which is a very good feature that adds some great enhancements to your videos. The downside is that Camtasia Rev appears to be slowing down the upload process considerably. I have carried out a small experiment showing the difference in upload times.
