How Much Should You Charge? Calculating the Best Price For Your Wedding DJ Services

It can be hard to figure out how much to charge for your mobile and wedding DJ services, and even harder to know whether you should increase or decrease your rates. Some not-so-great strategies include copying a competitor's rate sheet, charging what you think you can make, or just picking a random number.

In this video, I break down my method in hopes that it can help you determine the best pricing for your services. I focus on wedding DJ services, and I use two analysis methods together:

1) Exterior / competitive landscape -- study my peers in order to understand what I should charge to "fit" into my market, leveraging pricing, a customer experience index, and a business maturity index

2) Interior / cost -- analyze my fixed, variable, and labor costs in order to understand how much I must make in order to break even, and make a profit
