LKL organizes young farmers in Oecusse for growing rock melon on a dry land farm. In-hole tillage is technique to improve soil fertility.

Six young farmers involved in this activity are showing their work when LKL Team visited the farm. Besides that, they also built countur line using A frame. The holes will be a 1000 in total for growing rock melon. As the soil has heavy clay and poor organic matter, LKL introduces in-hole tillage and the application of manure mix with dry grass. The size of the hole is 30x30x30 cm.

This activity aims to educate farmers on how to farm on dry and poor land.
