Ullapool to Stornoway - Calmac Ferry to the Outer Hebrides

Описание к видео Ullapool to Stornoway - Calmac Ferry to the Outer Hebrides

The Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides is linked to the Scottish mainland by the Calmac ferry from Ullapool in the Highlands to Stornoway. The crossing takes 2.5 to 3 hours depending on weather conditions. The day of this crossing was (thankfully) much calmer than usual. If you happen to experience calm conditions and sunny skies then you really are lucky! The ferry Loch Seaforth cruises out of beautiful Loch Broom, past the Summer Isles and out into the North Minch where you might be fortunate enough to see passing cetaceans. I saw a basking shark on this crossing but wasn't fast enough to catch it on camera. As the Point peninsula and the distant mountains of Harris come into view, the ferry slows and manoeuvres into Stornoway harbour.
