The log showed on my instagram profile was cutted and splited in march 2021. It was about 120 years old wild pear tree. As bonus - the wood was spalted. After spliting all the pieces were drying outside, in the shaded and
airy place. Today it is the time to prepare some hand plane billets and let them dry in the workshop for 12 months or more.
The process is nothing fancy, just some of you asked me about it so here is the video :)
I have almost no time for the workshop, but don't worry - we are good and healthy. The weather does not allow renovation work outside so i hope i'll make some projects soon :)

Spalted wood is a little bit weaker, but i'm gonna stabilize it and build moving fillister planes. The wood looks awesome and i think the planes wiil look the same!
