Re 460 (Lok 2000) at Zürich HB - Switzerland Railfanning

Описание к видео Re 460 (Lok 2000) at Zürich HB - Switzerland Railfanning

Earlier this week my uncle gave me some videos he'd shot while in Switzerland on business. As an American, all of the trains and locations in these clips are foreign to me, and it took quite a bit of research to compile the information listed below. With that said, the Swiss rail system is very cool, and I thoroughly enjoyed learning about it.

SBB Re 460 054-0 "Dreiländereck"
Visible from 1:05 to 1:25 is SBB Re 460 054-0. The Re 460, also known as the Lok 2000, is a locomotive capable of 6,100 kW (8,180 hp) and 200 km/h (120 mph). Like many European locomotives, it was designed by Pininfarina; though this locomotive in particular sports the traditional Ferrari red, the Re 460 fleet is known for its diverse mix of liveries paid for by advertisers. Another trait of the Re 460s is that each locomotive has a name. The locomotive in this clip, "Dreiländereck," is named after the tri-border area of Switzerland, Germany, and France.

SBB Re 460 050-8 "Züspa"
Visible from 1:29 to 1:45 is SBB Re 460 050-8. This locomotive, seen here wearing RailAway CFF livery, is named after the Zürich Autumn Exhibition, or Zürich Autumn Fair, which is a trade show that takes place during the first week of October.

IC 2000
Visible at 1:50 is the IC 2000, pulling up to the platform. The IC 2000, operated by Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) as part of their InterCity service, is a double-deck train that runs all throughout Switzerland. An interior shot of one of the coaches can be seen at 2:24. The locomotive powering the train could not be seen.

SBB Re 460 011-0 "Léman"
Visible at 2:43 is SBB Re 460 011-0. This locomotive, seen here wearing traditional Ferrari red, is named after Lake Geneva, which is a huge, beautiful lake in both Switzerland and France.

All of the trains seen in the video belong to Swiss Federal Railways, also known as the Schweizerische Bundesbahnen (German), the Chemins de fer fédéraux suisses (French), and the Ferrovie Federali Svizzere (Italian). The abbreviations for each of these names, seen on the sides of most locomotives and rolling stock, are SBB, CFF, and FFS, respectively. The Romanian version of the name, Viafiers federalas svizras, is not officially used. All clips shot in and around Zürich Hauptbahnhof, also known as Zürich HB, the Zürich Main Station, or the Zürich Central Station.
