From Dundalk to Ardee | Chapter 5 Part 11

Описание к видео From Dundalk to Ardee | Chapter 5 Part 11

Laine and Cuchulain start walking together. She is in two places at once—Montana and ancient Ireland and the two form a double image in her imagination. Cuchulain (Max) points out his hometown of Dundalk, Ireland which is actually Hamilton, Montana as they walk towards it. Laine remembers her high school and the popular boy, George Gadland, whose parents owned the concrete company at the end of the road where she later lived as an adult, and where they are walking. She didn’t know George G. as a freshman at the new school, even though his name was on his truck's license plate outside.
She thinks of the Corlea Trackway, the first road in Ireland built during the Iron Age. In her imagination, this is the road she is currently walking with Cuchulain. She thinks about the environmental effects of progress even in those early times. She also compares the ancient builders of the Corlea Trackway, to artists and writers being singularly focused on a goal that they might not see come to completion in their lifetime, and the noble acts of those dedicated to the pursuit of excellence, walking an unknown road for a specific cause.
She wants to help Cuchulain (Max) even though he hurt her on his journey towards defending Ulster against Queen Mebd’s army. She also wants to get to the brown bull and protect it, even if her motivations for doing so are somewhat different than his. Laine thinks Cuchulain (Max) misled her with his intentions. She came up with the conclusion that some modern guys would say anything to get a girl in bed, which is nothing like the heroes she read about in ancient Ireland, whose words counted for everything. Real people were getting hurt by it at least she had.
Sometimes when people get their feelings hurt the pain can be just as debilitating as physical pain.
