#34 Woodland Mills Sawmill Beginners Guide | How To Operate/Use | Part 1


If you are in the market for a portable sawmill and are checking out different videos online this video takes an in depth look at the woodland mills hm126 and I try to be as detailed as possible in how to operate it.


In part 1 I start out by showing how a log is loaded and clamped onto the bunks of the mill in detail.


From there I show how you can get the log lined up on the bunks to ensure that you will maximize the amount of quality lumber that comes out of the log. This includes a demonstration of the toe board from woodland mills that aids in raising tapered logs.


Once I have gone through in detail how to get the log properly oriented and ready to be sawed we take a look at the mill itself.


I show how to check your blade to ensure it is tracking properly which includes a look at the tensioner handle and how to get the proper amount of tension on the blade. I also show a quick example of how to check the belt for proper tension.


I give a few suggestions about the proper lubricant to use depending on the weather/climate.


From there I demonstrate how to start the motor, and how the tape measure on the saw head is used in relation to the bunks on the sawmill, and show how the crank handle works to raise and lower the saw head.


This is where part 1 ends, in part 2 I will demonstrate how to actually cut the log with the woodland mills sawmill and end up with usable lumber.
