Arriving at Brockley station, I was met by the Bob Marley street art, a good omen I thought, for the evening ahead.

Soft Wax kicked off the proceedings with his own special Lee Perry tribute. MC Doc Murdoch joined in to continue the warming up.

Next was Dubplate Pearl with another excellent roots selection, although by now the evening was really warming up, and a fan was required to keep herself cool.

Then the headline act, Tessa herself, starting hard and heavy with the tune "Such is Life" by Lord Creator. I would say it was probably the Lee Perry version as well. Wicked Will Roper appeared on the stage to add a live trumpet accompaniment to several of Tessa's chosen tracks.

Last but not least, Danny Dread took control of the turntable, and he was ready and able, just like Cain and Abel. The resulting music and singing provided a great finish to the September evening.
