On August 17th, 2023, Competition Subaru of Smithtown hosted their annual Subaru Motorsports Car Show. It was an incredible day! This year Competition Subaru of Smithtown was honored to have a very special guest, rallycross driver and professional skateboarder, Bucky Lasek. Everyone had a wonderful time greeting Bucky while hanging out at the event! He signed posters and checked out our Long Island Subaru enthusiasts vehicles, including many from the Buzzetta family and their personal collection. Competition Subaru of Smithtown will never forget having Bucky in Saint James, New York. It was an immense honor to have Bucky cruise around in the 1966 Porsche 906, the vehicle that racing legend, and Competition Auto Group Founder, Joe Buzzetta drove in the 1966 United States Road Racing Championship. This 1966 Porsche 906 was the vehicle that Joe had used to win the Sebring race in, and drove at just about every other track in the continental U.S that you could imagine. Bucky also got to ride with General Manager, and grandson to Joe, James Buzzetta, in the Subaru 360, the first vehicle that Subaru had ever created. Not only was Competition Subaru of Smithtown graced by Bucky's presence, but one of our five locations was also honored to have the Vermont SportsCar Trailer with Seth at our Subaru dealership in St. James. Competition Subaru had a blast touring the trailer, and viewing two different Subaru rally cars, the 2020 Gymkhana car: the Air Slayer, and James Buzzetta's, recently purchased Vermont SportsCar 2017 STI Test Car, the Test Mule! Both of these vehicles have been driven by the incredible Travis Pastrana. Our Competition Subaru Family was so excited to display their vehicles at the dealership and participate in the exciting raffles and contests held that day. The delicious Terry and Yaki food truck, local to Long Island, New York, kept us well fed, and Mr. Softee, the local Long Island ice cream truck was such a sweet treat for all to enjoy!

Both Competition Auto Group and Competition Subaru of Smithtown are so grateful to all that came and made this event such an entertaining success! We can't wait to see everyone at next year's show!
