Ny Nen is a Smot performer in villages in the Prey Veng province. This Smot is for the 15th day of the annual Pchum Ben Festival. Pchum Ben is a Khmer Surin and Khmer Krom ritual performed for the ancestors. In the ritual, the living can give food offerings such as rice balls to deceased ancestors, to reduce or end their suffering. Ny Nen’s husband Phean Soun is also a smot performer.
