Speaker Bio

Brett is a full stack software engineer, currently working at YugabyteDB, an open-source, distributed SQL database. With over 10 years of experience as a developer, he’s worked in many different industries, including music streaming, big data, IoT and databases.

Throughout his career, Brett has been drawn to developing real-time applications at scale. As a principal software engineer at Oracle, he worked primarily in front-end and mobile development, developing IoT applications for asset and production monitoring. In his current role, he is tasked with building and deploying distributed applications to showcase the high availability, scalability, and resiliency of YugabyteDB.

Brett lives in San Francisco, having moved there from Philadelphia a decade ago. He describes himself as a passionate, below-average, trail runner.
