‘Save Cubbon Park’ is a campaign launched by News9 to save the iconic park in Bengaluru. It is a campaign against the controversial decision to allow traffic inside the park for 3 hours on Saturdays on a trial basis. The trial is designed to assess how limited vehicular access might impact traffic congestion in surrounding areas. This decision has drawn battlelines between Bengaluru traffic police, the state horticulture department, environmentalists and walkers who have been fighting to preserve the serenity of the park and protect Bengaluru’s lung space from air and noise pollution. News9 joins in the initiative which has over 2,000 people sign an online petition to stop traffic movement inside the park on holidays.
