presoaking for 30+ min in plain tap water with no acid

2 g of dyepowder dissolved in water

at least 16 cups of water

I forgot to add acid at first. I think there were 16 cups of plain tap water and added acid in the middle of dip dyeing add 2 T white vinegar
once the yarn is all in add2 more T white vinegar
