The inaugural Solana Summit, held from June 20-22, 2024, in Kuala Lumpur, has concluded with resounding success. Celebrated as the largest gathering of Solana’s founders and developers, this three-day event attracted close to 1,000 attendees from across the globe, significantly surpassing expectations.

Unprecedented Participation and Engagement
The summit saw an overwhelming response with almost 2,000 applicants from 56 countries. Over 70% of the attendees were from overseas, and impressively, 50% were founders and developers. This diverse and dynamic crowd gathered to engage in meaningful discussions, network, and collaborate on the future of the Solana ecosystem.

One of the major successes of the Solana Summit was its ability to foster an environment where like-minded individuals could have meaningful conversations and ask pertinent questions. "It just felt different," echoed many attendees, highlighting the unique atmosphere of the event.

Key Highlights and Activities
Speakers and Workshops: The summit featured over 95 speakers, including industry leaders such as Raymond Siva from Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), Akshay BD from Solana Foundation, Armani Ferrante from Backpack & Madlads, Siong from Jupiter Exchange, Jon Wong from Solana Foundation, Cindy Leow from Drift, Kha Nguyen from Birdeye, Wei Zhou from [Coins.ph]), Matthew Tan, CEO of Etherscan, and TM & Bobby, Co-Founders of Coingecko. More than 30 workshops and over a dozen side events provided attendees with extensive learning and networking opportunities.
Solana Summit SpringX Solana Accelerator: This dynamic accelerator program, a collaboration between Superteam and SpringX, is designed to empower Web3 entrepreneurs building on Solana. It offers top-tier mentorship, exclusive funding support, and access to a global resource network. The program kicked off with an intensive offline component in Kuala Lumpur, just before the summit. The highlight was the VC pitch day, where 13 selected startups were paired with over two dozen of the best venture capitalists from the region, aiming to secure early-stage financing and drive market expansion. The accelerator fosters long-term collaborations within the Solana ecosystem, ensuring startups have the support they need to thrive.
Hackathon Demo Day: The Solana Summit APAC Hackathon was a unique competition for summit attendees. Unlike typical hackathons, this event allowed participants several weeks to work on their projects before the summit. The top 30 submissions showcased their innovations on June 22, competing for prizes exceeding $30,000 USD. In total, over $160,000 in cash and prizes were awarded to teams as part of the Solana Summit Accelerator and Solana Summit Hackathon Demo Day.
Solana Startup Village, June 12-22: This 13-day event in KL, Malaysia, organised by Superteam & SG Builders, provided over 60 founders the opportunity to meet like-minded builders in the Asian Solana ecosystem. The event included a mix of programming, hacking, co-working, education, and networking.
