This is Lester Piggott's final ride on UK soil on his birthday 5th November 1994. Although he was not to officially retire until the following year, he did not return to UK soil. He rode Mr Confusion for Sally Hall, he was not unfancied and the horse was 'out with the washing and our last glimpse of Lester in action was high in the stirrups riding a no hoper. Great reminiscences of Channel 4 coverage at that time with John Oaksey and my late father John Tyrrel who was also retiring that day. Also, the late great Raleigh Gilbert commentating.
