When to Use the Chase Travel Portal? | Booking Independent Hotels & Tours

We recently did a video on the two primary ways to book travel using Chase Ultimate Rewards points (   • How to Redeem Chase Ultimate Rewards ...  ). In that video, we showed examples of where it might be better to transfer points to travel partners instead of using the Chase Travel Portal. Today, we’re showing the opposite — examples of when we use the Chase Travel Portal for our bookings, particularly with boutique hotels and tours/activities.
Some of this information may be a refresher for those of you in the points hobby. However, even while creating this video, I learned about new ways that I might use the Chase Travel Portal (e.g., buying tickets to attractions in advance).
