Rescue teams were deployed by Morocco’s Royal Gendarmerie as floodwaters inundated villages in the Larache province following weeks of heavy rainfall triggered by Storm Leonardo. Footage shows rescuers evacuating residents by boat in the villages of Oulad Ouchih and Laheraresa Chamakha, where rising waters cut off access routes. Officials estimate more than 143,000 people have been evacuated nationwide amid the ongoing flood risk.
