Sandra Smith: A charity watchdog group did some digging into pro-Palestinian protests and found one nonprofit that has given millions of dollars to groups connected to these rallies. That nonprofit TIDE has received money from several foundations, including one controlled by George Soros, who has donated more than $22 million to the group.

William La Jeunesse has the story for us. William, what's some of the some of this money doing?

William La Jeunesse: Well, the protests, right, they cost money, the signs, the travel, the organizing. But where does it come from? Well, there's a group, most have never heard about it. It's called tides. And they take in big money, mostly from anonymous donors or foundations. Then they dole it out, some $700 million last year to progressive groups that then bankroll the protest. But the real donors remain secret.

Voice Over: New York, Chicago, cities across the country. Who's paying to organize pro-Palestinian protests?

Tyler Gregory: I think that the funding sources of these groups is intentionally hard to sort out.

Voice Over: A major source is San Francisco based TIDES, a nonprofit clearinghouse for liberal causes funded by some of America's wealthiest foundations and individuals like billionaire George Soros, who, according to charity watchdog Capital Research Center, funneled tides more than $22 million for different causes.

Parker Thayer: If the left does it, TIDES funds it.

Voice Over: Tax records show TIDES funded Jewish Voice For Peace, which co-sponsored this protest, $650,000. $710,000 to the Adalah Justice Project, which organized this demonstration on Capitol Hill. $86,000 to the group, If Not Now, organizer of this protest outside the DNC. $38,000 to the Center for Constitutional Rights, which sued President Biden for failing to quote prevent genocide. $600,000 The Mass Liberation Project, which accuses the U.S. of ethnic cleansing. And $132,000 to Westpac, sponsor of Students For Justice in Palestine, which organized this protest at Columbia.

Parker Thayer: The tides network has sent well over $2 million in the past few years alone to organizations sympathetic to Hamas and sympathetic to the Palestinian resistance. Some going to these groups, all of which signed a letter demanding the US defund the Israeli military.

William La Jeunesse: So TIDES also gave about $6 million to the 8 organizations you just saw. They did not respond to our interview request. Now, a spokesperson for the SOROs Foundation, Sandra, says they condemn Hamas and they support a future that respects rights and freedoms of all. Back to you.
