5 Exercises for Hip Joint Pain (Arthritis, Impingement, Labral Tears)

Описание к видео 5 Exercises for Hip Joint Pain (Arthritis, Impingement, Labral Tears)

Today’s video covers hip joint pain, which can be due to arthritis, femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) and/or labral tears. In general, these issues produce pain in the anterior (front) hip and groin regions that is brought on by moving the hip joint into end-range flexion (think knee to chest). Adding hip internal rotation and adduction to this flexed position can further provoke symptoms.

Symptoms typically include stiffness, pain in the anterior and/or lateral hip with weight bearing and limited mobility in at least two of the six hip movements (flexion, extension, adduction, abduction, external rotation and internal rotation).

In terms of behavior modification, try to avoid prolonged sitting and aggressive hip flexion stretching and limit deep squats or try performing these movements with the hips abducted and externally rotated.
