Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is a JRPG developed by Monolith Soft that released in 2017 for the Nintendo Switch and is the third entry in the Xenoblade series of games. Here we are introduced to the world of Alrest, where civilizations reside on the backs of titans as they aimlessly wander the boundless sea of clouds. The titans are inexplicably dying out however, stoking the flames of conflict as resources dwindle and land is decreasingly finite. This leads a salvager from Fonsett Village named Rex to search for the entrance to the fabled Elysium, said to be resting at the top of the World Tree, the original home of all organic life. But Rex's fate is forever altered when he becomes the Driver of the Aegis during one of his jobs, and receives a heavy request from the Blade he linked to, Pyra.
