Recharging your Car Air Conditioner A/C System with Manifold Gauges and Vacuum Pump

These days you can buy Air Conditioner vacuum pumps and manifold gauges relatively easily which makes maintaining your it car AC system relatively straightforward.

Remember that refrigerant is under high pressure so wear safety glasses and be extremely careful when attaching charging hoses to your cars system.

The high pressure and low pressure side of the AC manifold gauge hoses is keyed so that it won't connect to the low pressure side of your AC system and vice versa. Be sure that the connections are both off (counterclockwise) before attaching the hoses to your system.

Do not vent refrigerant from a charged system direct to the outside. Make sure you recover any AC i to a container so it can be reused.
