This is the final episode of my Fixing the Sword Art Online Gameverse series for the foreseeable future. Todays video will focus on the evergrowing cast of characters that the writers are seemingly forced to include in every adventure and reluctant to drop, even if certain characters do not contribute anything to the main campaign.

The cast just kept growing, by introducing Sinon and Leafa at the beginning of Hollow Fragment, Philia, Strea and Yuuki being pulled into the game later on, Seven, Rain and Sumeragi being added to the cast in Lost Song, 2 of them barely appearing in the games at this point anyways, Hollow Realization introducing Premiere, Tia and Kizmel, two of which have completely disappeared, despite Kirito's promise to Tia and Kureha, Zeliska, Itsuki and Bazalt Joe in Fatal Bullet.

There are always problems that arise when the cast grows too big, but there are also ways to go around this problem in the hands of capable writers and a good design team in general, which the SAO Gameverse has actually achieved properly as early as Hollow Fragment days, so it was kind of a mindboggling journey to go through each game and watch the problem, that was already solved, be re-ignited by the sheer fanservice attempts of the writers or maybe the publisher themselves.

This is the fourth episode of my Fixing the Sword Art Online Gameverse series focusing on the bloated cast of the SAO Gameverse and how this effects storytelling.
