Korg Wavestate Demo: A Universe of Sound

Hey Folks.

I've got the synthesizer that I have been planning to buy for a long time. This is the Korg Wavestate, a synthesizer which is the revival of the legendary Korg Wavestation. It basically sequences waveforms in order to create sounds. Mainly it specializes in lush, ambient soundscapes, evolving pads, multi-layered performances and sequences, and unique interpretations of various instruments such as basses, electric pianos and mallets.

The beautiful thing with this machine is that you can simply press and hold on one key and let it do the rest, while turning the knobs and having fun. It is as simple as that to use, however if you wanna dig into it you are not going to find the end of the possibilities, it's just limitless. It is indeed difficult to create your own programs or wave sequences from scratch at first, however it comes with a ton of presets that you can modify to your own liking.

It includes a vast range of filters including the original MS20 and Polysix filters. FX section is huge and powerful, and you have got DSP effects built-in such as the compressor, various types of EQs, reverbs, delays, mod FX like chorus and phaser, special mod FX and so on.

This is a great synthesizer that I had lots of fun with. It is very ideal for creating those 80s and 90s lush sounds with the highest resolution of today's technology, but also is very powerful in terms creating highly dense, thick and rich soundscapes with top notch quality waveforms.
