Intro to Emulated Current Mode (ECM) Control

Описание к видео Intro to Emulated Current Mode (ECM) Control

This seminar will introduce a new form of control referred to as Emulated Current Mode (ECM) control, that retains all of the intrinsic performance and ease-of-use benefits found in conventional current mode control, with reduced noise susceptibility and high operating frequency capability. Following a review of the step-down buck regulator and conventional current mode control, the operation of Emulated Current Mode control will be introduced. A new family of Simple Switcher buck regulators utilizing emulated current mode control is presented. These new regulators allow the user the ability to optimize the solution size and performance. A detailed explanation and design procedure to select for loop compensation components is presented. Also, a method is shown to predict the junction temperatures and overall thermal performance of a buck regulator. Finally an inverting (positive input to negative output) Buck-Boost application is presented. Topics covered in this online seminar include: * Buck Regulator Basics * Operation of Current Mode Control * Operation of Emulated Current Mode Control * New Family of Simple Switcher Regulators * Thermal Considerations * Loop Compensation Design * Inverting Buck-Boost Application
